Go Out For Peace

Topic of Discussion:-Go Out For Peace

Scripture:-Psalms 34:14

Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.

What causes us to lose our peace? Lots of things, running late, traffic jams, lack of money, That’s why it’s so important to ‘exercise’ walking in peace every day. For example, you have to decide when to close your mouth and not be easily offended. And you have to be OK with being wrong sometimes.

You can’t just sit back and wish for peace, wish the devil would leave you alone, or wish that people would do what you want. The Bible tells us to actively pursue peace. You have to make up your mind to crave peace.

For God’s Word to bear fruit in our lives, it must be sown in a peaceful heart of someone who works for and makes peace. All believers have a responsibility to maintain a spirit of peace so God can spread His Word in and through them.

Are you looking for a breakthrough in your life but no matter how hard you try, it’s not coming? It’s more than likely because you are not living in peace. So I urge you, crave peace, seek after it, and go for it with all your might!

Blessings

Ignored by Man But Chosen by God

1 Samuel 16:7
‘But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Commentary
Have you been fooled by appearances?

Today, image is everything with some people.
They spend hours expertly applying elaborate makeup, dressing up in expensive but maybe lipa-pole pole clothes, and then they find the perfect lighting in order to take the perfect photo or selfie. They make sure that any natural flaws in their appearance are hidden from view.

Even if such people look like film-stars, they know the truth – that they are only play-acting and pretending. The terrible truth is that some are so self-deceived that they come to believe their own lies about their real appearance.

Anyone can be deceived by appearances. When he first laid his eyes on Saul, Samuel was impressed by Saul’s regal and kingly stature:
“Saul was the most handsome man in Israel —head and shoulders taller than anyone else in the land” (1 Sam 9:2 NLT).

Then here comes Eliab, son of Jesse:
‘When… Samuel saw Eliab… he thought, “Surely the LORD’S anointed stands here before the LORD ”’ (1 Sam 16:6).

We Christians need to remind ourselves that even if we choose to fool around, we can only really fool other people. You know yourself the true state of your own heart, actions, and motives.
And God knows our hearts even better than us.

In today’s Scripture, we find that David was forgotten and ignored by his own family, but not by God:
‘So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features. Then the LORD said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.” So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed David in the presence of his brothers. From that day on, the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon David” (1 Sam 16:12-13).
David went on to become Israel’s greatest king of all time.

Maybe you are just out there looking after the sheep – so to speak – and no one really cares about what you may be capable of doing for God. Don’t worry. Just remain faithful because God sees you! He is looking for faithful people he can pour His Holy Spirit upon to use in a powerful way.

Prayer
Everlasting Father, help me to seek to do that which pleases You. May I stop waiting for recognition and praise from human mouths and hearts. Pour Your Holy Spirit upon me and empower me to be faithful to Your calling on my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Open And Shut Doors

scripture:-Revelation 3:7(NLT)
The Message to the Church in Philadelphia. Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia.

This is the message from the one who is holy and true, the one who has the key of David. What he opens, no one can close; and what he closes, no one can open.

WORD
There are critical times in our lives when we especially need to know if we’re hearing clearly from God. It isn’t always easy to know God’s voice from that of our own emotional reasoning. But I know from experience that God can open doors of opportunity that no one can close, and He can also close doors that we cannot open.

We may spend many years trying to organize things we want to do in life. The result maybe frustration and disappointing. But if we depend on God, He will give us favor and make things easy for us when we seek Him and His perfect timing. He leads one step at a time. If we take one step forward in the wrong direction, He will let us know before we go too far.

God’s thoughts are above our thoughts. He sees the end from the beginning. All His ways are right and sure. God knows what makes sense for us and He can make it happen. When we hear from Him we will not be deceived.

Blessings!

Don’t Waste Your Time On Guilt

Scripture:-1 John 1:9
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

WORD
When we feel guilty, it’s hard to think about anything else. We might try to push the thought away, but it just keeps coming back.
Trying to manage our guilt is not how God wants us to spend our time. He wants us to experience the freedom and joy that come from a clear conscience.

The only way to let go of our guilt is confession, which just means admitting our sins to God. We tell Him , “God, you’re right, and I was wrong. I sinned. I messed up.” we don’t justify it or make excuses for it. We just admit it.

God has given us a wonderful promise in the Bible: “If we confess our sins, He will forgive our sins, because we can trust God to do what is right. He will cleanse us from all the wrongs we have done”

Have you been carrying a load of worries and wounds and wrongs in your life? Deal with them now. In your weakness, confess to God all your sin. He will give you the strength to get back up and start a new, healthy pattern in your life. He’ll help you let it go and stop the pain that’s kept you from God’s best for your life.

Blessings!

Release Your Worries Through Prayers

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
Philippians 4:6 NLT

God doesn’t want us walking through the year weighed down with burdens and cares and fears and anxieties. He wants us to release these things.

When we worry,we’re trying to take matters into your own hands.
Instead, God wants us to relax and just let Him be God. He can take care of the things in our lives that have weighed us down for so long.

We know all those things that we were worried about last year that didn’t happen? We need to stop worrying about them now. We need to let them go.

How do you let go of our worries? We don’t get rid of worry through , diets, pills, seminars, or even therapy—though some of those things can be helpful in our lives. There is only one way to get rid of worry: by praying about it.

We can worry, or we can pray. We’re going to do one or the other throughout the year. The more you worry, the less you’re going to pray. The more you pray, the less you’re going to worry. Prayer is the way we release our worries and heavy burdens.

Leave Your Resentment Behind

Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm.
Psalm 37:8 NLT

Emotional wounds are often more painful than physical wounds, and they often take longer to heal. It’s hard for us to let go of an emotional hurt.

We remember emotional wounds a lot longer because we rehearse them in our minds. We think about the hurt over and over and over again.

But your past is past. The people who hurt you in the past can no longer hurt you unless you choose to let them. Every time you rehearse a wound in your mind, you’re allowing somebody in your past to control your present.

Holding on to a hurt is called resentment. Resentment means “to cut again.” Every time you resent something, you cut yourself again. You reopen the wound. You re-administer the pain.

You’ve got to let your past hurts go. Those thoughts of how you were hurt will try to creep in again. When they do, choose to think about something different. Focus on the future. Think about God’s love and forgiveness and care for you.

It’s time to leave your resentment behind and start walking forward into God’s good plan for your life.

Bless you!

Learning To Forgive Like Jesus

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice. Luke 23:34(NLT)

I once heard about a man who was drinking and caused an accident that killed a man’s wife and child. The man knew God wanted him to forgive this man who caused the accident, and through much prayer he was able to let the love of God flow through him.

That man knew how to forgive like Jesus. He understood that this man was also hurting and needed healing.

When people hurt us, we should learn to look at what people have done to themselves instead of just looking at what they have done to us. Usually, when a person hurts someone else, he’s probably hurting himself at least as much and is suffering some fallout as a result. That’s why, as He hung on the cross in agony, Jesus said of His murderers, ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.’

That’s incredible forgiveness. Let that inspire us today. We all need to seek to forgive like Jesus.

The Nature Of God’s Love

But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) Ephesians 2:4-5(NLT)

Sometimes when life gets discouraging, the best thing we can do is remind ourselves of the nature of God’s love.

One of the most beautiful things the Bible tells us is that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (see Romans 5:8). He did not wait for us to deserve His love. He loves us unconditionally. To be honest, that’s hard for many of us to comprehend because we are so accustomed to having to earn everything in life.

Because of His great, wonderful and intense love for us, God poured His life out for us freely.
A love that gives itself away because it can never be satisfied doing anything less.

It is God’s unconditional love that draws us to Him, His amazing grace that erases our sin, and His powerful sacrifice that makes a way for us to enter His presence. His love will never quit, never give up, and never leave us. Whenever you feel down or depressed, remember the great love that God has for you

God’s Amazing Grace

Romans 5:8
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Commentary
Knowing Jesus as Savior is the only way to find peace with God. This peace begins now in this life and goes on to all eternity. Salvation in Jesus transforms our hearts, attitudes, and actions from being enemies of God to becoming His children. Knowing God even changes how we relate with our family, friends, and our whole communities. We begin to live careful lives that we don’t ever shame the name of our Savior by what we do.

Humanity did not go seeking the Savior. We could not.
“As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins” (Eph 2:1).
Is there anything that a dead person could do for himself?
Of course not!
It is God who stepped into this world and saved mankind. Today’s verse contains the most important theme of the Bible – God’s love.
Salvation is God’s merciful offer to powerless and helpless sinners. God didn’t just say that He loved us, He demonstrated His love by Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross while we were still sinners.

There’s no one who we should consider too sinful for God to save. If God saved me from my sins, He can surely save the drunkards, prostitutes, drug addicts, and conmen that we know but haven’t shared God’s love with.

Why don’t we share the Gospel with them?
Is it because we think they’re too sinful for salvation?
But look at you and I. God saved us and cleaned us up. He is able to do the same for a murderer, rapist, kidnapper, abductor, thief, and everyone.

The road of salvation is narrow, yes, but anyone and everyone can walk that road. The invitation is to all. Jesus says:
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Mat 11:28).

He also says:
“Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find” (Mat 22:9).

Who do you need to reach out urgently to?
Will you do it?

Prayer
Our gracious and holy God, thank You for sending Your only Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, and this, while we were still sinners. May Your grace compel and stir us to live to do something greater than ourselves – to share Your love to the people around us and leave You to draw them to Yourself. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Being Suspicious

Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 Corinthians 13:7(NLT)

Today’s verse gives us a clear picture of what it means to really love people. I can honestly say that obedience to this Scripture has always been a challenge for me.

I was brought up to be suspicious and to distrust everyone, but meditating on the characteristics of love and realizing that love always believes the best has helped me to develop a new mindset.

Suspicion works against the very qualities necessary for godly relationships. Trust and faith bring joy to life and help relationships grow to their maximum potential, but suspicion cripples a relationship and usually destroys it.

Now, it’s true that people aren’t perfect, and sometimes our trust can be taken advantage of, but overall, the benefits of always seeing the best in people will far outweigh any negative experiences.

If you struggle with suspicion, remember today that we have the wonderful Holy Spirit in us to remind us when our thoughts are going in the wrong direction. Let’s ask Him to turn our suspicious thoughts into thoughts of love.
