HEEDING TO HEAVEN’ S TIMETABLE OR ‘GODSPEED’?

Someone needs it today. It might strike some deep nerves and chords in someone’s life today.

What is the desperate job seeker to do when the employment doesn’t come through after long seasons of searching and of course praying? How does the good married couple face another childless year when everyone around them has caught the pregnancy bug?

How much longer does the single good lady have to wait for a good man? What about the person with chronic illness in desperation for health? What about the…………. ? The list can be endless.

Wouldnt it be great if we could get our hands on Gods watch? Or even just peep at it? When we are able to grasp Gods timetables, we would have the answers to some of our greatest questions such as, When will ………. happen? When should I pursue ……….. ? and How much longer do I have to wait for ……….?

We want to know. We want to orchestrate. We want to direct. We want to control. This is called empowerment by our generation.Truth is, however, that we simply don’t know whats best for us in many cases. We certainly don’t have Heavens vantage point. That’s why we must trust and obey God !

Every person must face the difficulty that comes when Gods timing does not line up with our own expectations.

God wants us to live by discernment i.e revelation knowledge and not head knowledge. But it’s difficult to exercise discernment if you’re always trying to figure out everything.

The reason we get to read and enjoy the stories of great men and women in the bible is because they went through the difficulties of life with God. They heeded to heavens time table. In the end, they enjoyed the process with God and the promise of God.

God is just as interested in the journey as he is in the destination. If not, all the biblical accounts would only include the feel good parts and not the good, the bad and the ugly of the times of waiting.

We may not always understand why we have to wait, but the good news is that God never asks us to wait without Him. He is always with us in the wait.

Ecclesiastes 3:11
” He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

That is our God!
