FAITH OR FEAR; WHAT WILL YOU SPREAD TODAY?

“Then the officers shall add, “Is anyone afraid or fainthearted? Let him go home so that his fellow soldiers will not become disheartened too.” Deut 20:8 NIV

Imagine you are going about your business on a bright and sunny morning when suddenly you bump into “that person.” The one who is always telling you about how the world is coming to an end. The economy is only getting worse. The world is on the brink of war. We don’t stand a chance of staying healthy in today’s Corona environment. It will be a miracle if our children turn out to be good people given our society’s culture.

Suddenly, the morning is not so bright and sunny anymore. It is darker and scarier than you had imagined! Fear is contagious. In today’s reading, If one soldier was afraid, he could discourage all of the other troops. Indeed, fear is contagious, but thankfully, so is faith.

Every day, we have the opportunity to spread fear or to increase faith. Faith and fear have something in common, they both require us to believe in something for which we have no proof. When we fear something, we believe that the worst will happen. But when we have faith, we believe that everything will work out for the best. Both fear and faith require us to hang our hats on something that hasn’t yet happened. So why not choose faith?

As people of faith, we should have full confidence that God is in control, and with that we have nothing to.

Today, choose to spread faith to everyone you meet. Someone may be in the midst of a dark and murky day, be their sunshine.

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners, recovery of sight for the blind and to set the oppressed free. Amen🌹

  1. I believe this to be true. Sometimes, we tend to look inward and we need to look outward. As noted by many before me, “We may be the only Bible some people will ever see,” so it is up to us to “Be the Light for those living in a Dark World.”

  2. Yes! It’s so easy to become that fear-spreading person, isn’t it? It’s already depressing enough seeing everyone walking around wearing those satanic-looking masks without adding more doom and gloom. A cheerful “Good morning!” can make all the difference.

  3. Great reminder to let our light shine. The Lord places His joy inside of us and it blesses us and others. We can walk by faith and not let fear dominate our lives. Thanks Cynthia! ❤️
