Today some of us are waking up to despair, hopelessness and dissolution while a few others are waking up to a hopeful day and weekend with fulfilment and purpose. The Covid -19 pandemic and its effects being part of the mix.
While some of us are simply counting the Corona Pandemic days with lots of despair and concern, some others are making the days count by making tough moves and schemes.
Millennium is made of centuries, century is made of decades, decade is made of years, then months……down to weeks, days, hours to minutes and minutes into seconds. That’s the far down I can do the time count.
Its high time we stop just counting time or days but making them count as we speed past the middle of the year 2020. To make days count, you need to make some uncommon decisions. Uncommon breakthroughs requires unusual decisions.
At a certain point in time in Israel there was severe famine devastating the city. The enemies of Israel were encamped around the city waiting to pounce. The Israelites were suffering greatly and even starving. The suffering was so great the king wanted to make a scapegoat of Prophet Elisha, but stopped when the Prophet gave the following prophecy ; 2 Kings 7:1-5 NIV
Elisha replied, “Hear the word of the LORD. This is what the LORD says: About this time tomorrow, a seah of the finest flour will sell for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria.” The officer on whose arm the king was leaning said to the man of God, “Look, even if the LORD should open the floodgates of the heavens, could this happen?” “You will see it with your own eyes,” answered Elisha, “but you will not eat any of it!”
Among the Israelites were four lepers. Lepers at this time were outcasts from society. Their lives as functional members of society were finished. They lived on alms thrown to them from a distance.
Now there were four men with leprosy at the entrance of the city gate. They said to each other, “Why stay here until we die? If we say, ‘We’ll go into the city’-the famine is there, and we will die. And if we stay here, we will die. So let’s go over to the camp of the Syrians and surrender. If they spare us, we live; if they kill us, then we die.”
Please read the story for yourself and find out their their uncommon decision and its outcome to them and the whole city!
The uncommon decision and action of these lepers didn’t just deliver them, but the whole city!
Your breakthrough and deliverance could lie in some uncommon decision/s you may need to make today, this week or this Covid- 19 Pandemic season!
The spiritual growth you badly need and have been longing for will be immediately unlocked by some uncommon decisions you will make e.g. decision to attend some online christian fellowship despite your busy schedule, decision to wake up to pray and read your bible every morning, decision to enlist some good friends to keep you accountable, decision to break up some ” bad” relationships or friendships, to share some deep issue with someone for help and prayer. Decision to get committed to your spiritual growth.
What about your family, marriage, relationships, business, career, education, ministry and even talents? You will only take them to the next level by making some uncommon decisions and following them up with uncommon actions! Some of us just need to make a serious and uncommon decision to fully forgive someone or some people and things will tremendously change!
Its time to make a shift in your life ! Its time to get yourself on the path of breakthrough ! Its time you start living out your Godly purpose! Its time to make each day count instead of just counting days! All these will be unlocked by the uncommon decisions you will make today, this week or this Covid season
