First and foremost, I am so sorry for EVERYONE who has been directly affected by the deadly Corona Virus.

I know some have lost loved ones and some have seen their loved ones fight for their lives in the hospital.

Some have had to deal with slipping mental health and the fight against anxiety because of the true and false news surrounding COVID-19 that continues to show on our televisions and social media.

May God continue to comfort you during this time. I would encourage you to hold on to the promises of God concerning your life. Weeping may endure for the night but joy always comes in the morning. Before long, the Messiah will come for a rescue mission and we will suffer no more. That is the only hope we have as the children of God.

Even before then, God will bring calm after this storm because, If God’s anger could burn against man forever, who will remain alive?

In my city, the government introduced a lockdown and curfew within certain hours. The people in the city therefore, cannot move to the villages and the people in the villages cannot move to the city.

The curfew on the other hand limits movement of everyone between 5.00 a.m. to 7.00 a.m. This means, being in the traffic jam in the evenings while everyone tries to get home before the curfew begins. This especially has affected me on days that I find myself out late because I get panic and anxiety attacks and such environments make me sick and paralyze my mood.

On the other side of the coin, I have experienced the kind of peace, joy and love that I have never experienced in such a long time.

My employer had to divide the staff into two groups; group A and group B. We work in shifts in order to ease the congestion at work and that means there are days I don’t go to work at all. Now this is the source of the miracle during this time.

The fact that I can be at home with my family, interact and rekindle our once distant love is a miracle.

Usually we only have Saturday and Sunday to rest and be with family but wait, as a mother, you need to run errands and sort out the things you cannot sort during the week, the kids have to attend to their take-home assignments and before you know it, it is Monday again.

And now, we get to do meals together, study the bible together, pray together, worship together and share fun stories together with no hurry to do this or that on days that I don’t report to work at all. We have got time to sit down and make amends where we had rub shoulders in the wrong way and it has been such a fun ride that I will treasure forever.

James 1:17 says; Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Friends, I am sure I am not alone. We all have had a rough time during this season but the God who gives all the good and perfect gifts and blessings without shifting like shadows is still God and He is still at work.

May we take time to reflect on the good things that have happened and continue to happen to us during this season of COVID-19. Remember gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for

Life is easy, when you’re up on the mountain
And you’ve got peace of mind, like you’ve never known
But things change, when you’re down in the valley
Don’t lose faith, for you’re never alone

For the God on the mountain, is the God in the valley
When things go wrong, He’ll make them right
And the God of the good times
Is still God in the bad times

The God of the day is still God in the night

We talk of faith way up on the mountain
Talk comes so easy when life’s at its best
Now down in the valleys, of trials and temptations
That’s where your faith, is really put to the test

For the God on the mountain is the God in the valley
When things go wrong, He’ll make them right
And the God of the good times
Is still God in the bad times
The God of the day, is still God in the night
The God of the day, is still God in the night

God bless you!
