THE POWER OF PERSISTENT PRAYERS

Today’s Topic: The power of persistent prayers.
Today’s Scripture:Luke 18:1-8
PARABLE OF THE PERSISTENT WIDOW

This is the word of the Lord:
ALSO [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).He said, In a certain city there was a judge who neither reverenced and feared God nor respected or considered man.And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, Protect and defend and give me justice against my adversary. And for a time he would not; but later he said to himself, Though I have neither reverence or fear for God nor respect or consideration for man,Yet because this widow continues to bother me, I will defend and protect and avenge her, lest she give me intolerable annoyance and wear me out by her continual coming or at the last she come and rail on me or assault me or strangle me.Then the Lord said, Listen to what the unjust judge says! And will not [our just] God defend and protect and avenge His elect (His chosen ones), who cry to Him day and night? Will He defer them and delay help on their behalf?
I tell you, He will defend and protect and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [persistence in] faith on the earth?
Amen!

Friends,We must embrace the different seasons in our life knowing fully well itโ€™s justย a season. Iโ€™ve come to trust that every season of life comes with its own valuable lessons that can last you for a lifetime. The โ€˜Quitting Seasonโ€™ is a season that threatens to destroy the harvest of families and hardworking citizens โ€ฆ but itโ€™s part of the circle of life that must be handled with WISDOM. This season looksย for loopholes and imperfections in our lives making high bids to distract us from our task at hand.Itโ€™s the kind of season that fine tunes our shortcomings causing us toย become frustrated with ourselves and stop fighting. Be wise! Don โ€˜t let how you feel make you forget what God has said.ย

Good or bad โ€” seasons are just for a season. The GOD we serve is never perturbed by the seasons He allows to come to us because He has given us everything we need to go through the season.ย  Jabez had a season of pain and he prayedย  โ€“-ย  โ€œOh, that you would bless me indeed, and ENLARGE my territory, that YOUR hand would be with me, and that YOU would keep me from evil, that I may NOT CAUSE PAIN.โ€ SO, GOD GRANTED him what he requested.โ€Seasons shift when we pray. God knows how we are framed and Heโ€™s remembers we are dust. That is why we do not lose heart in a season

The skill of handling a season maybe intimidating most of the times but our inner self is daily growing stronger as we learn valuable lessons to pass on to others.ย  Answers to prayers doesnโ€™t come about by doing drive-thru prayers because we are in a hurry. Itย requires sweat, tears, and being persistent. Donโ€™t expect God to turn up if we arenโ€™t willing to put in the time for ourselves.ย
There was a judge who neither feared God nor respected men. There was also a widow who wanted justice against her adversary. The judge refused to listen to the widowโ€™s plight but the woman kept annoyingย the judge with her persistent cry.ย

Eventually the judge out of frustration granted the widow justice. The judge had no other option to silence the widow and the widow had no other option than to be persistent. If the unjust judge could be moved by a persisting widowโ€™s plea โ€” certainly God will give us justice when we cry out to Him day and night. The God we serve is looking for faith on the earth โ€ฆ Heโ€™s ready to answer when we will not give up.We all experience dry seasons in our lives, they make us want to quit and count our losses, but God is looking for people with faith to believe that persistent prayers CAN and WILL abort Satanโ€™s plots to destroy our harvest.

IN CHRIST THEREโ€™S NEVER A CRISIS. When you know the power of PERSISTENTย ย prayers โ€ฆ God always grants us our request.

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners, recovery of sight for the blind and to set the oppressed free. Amen๐ŸŒน
