Meanwhile, the people in Judah said, “The strength of the laborers is giving out, and there is so much rubble that we cannot rebuild the wall.”
Lord, renew your laborer’s strength so that they continue building your kingdom. In Jesus name!
As laborers, our strength do fail because there’s just so much rubble to deal with. It’s similar to how a worm hides on the inside of an apple. We hide behind our wall that we have built up while allowing others to affect us in negative ways without trying to stop or prevent these things from happening.
What are some rubble or garbage we face when we are laborers?
-Undergoing major relationship changes
-Hostile interactions from people you work with or even close family members
Sometimes it appears that there’s so much garbage and trash to get rid of …that it’s tempting to simply walk away before completing our assignment. We must look out for discouragement at the beginning of an important task or dream or goal…So it’s important to become aware of the symptoms of discouragement and attack it with full force before it spirals into something more detrimental, destroying our great commission.
What are symptoms of discouragement:
-Low self esteem
In order to rebuild our strength that we had when we were first called, we must draw strength from God the creator of our destiny. His Plan A – is always for our good. We must trust the process (obstacles, bridges, valleys, detours) knowing that we are standing firm in His limitless power. It took seven walks and seven times shouting for the walls of Jericho to come crumbling down before they could march into Jericho.
Regaining strength may take some time but quitting will not help. One day at a time, one step at a time is all that is required. It’s a real hike to get to our fulfillment and destiny but it will be so worth it when we get there. The things we dream about that are part of our bucket list, let’s do it today. There will never be a good time to start …so start anyway. Until we are faithful in what we are put in charge to do, we will not reap the satisfaction that we accomplished anything great. Keep going!!
When carrying on with God’s work we must learn what’s important and what’s not. Get rid of the distracting factors (rubble, garbage, discouragement, pleasing others etc). Stay focused on your goals. Set your thoughts on the things that you choose to prioritize in your life. Make prayer your lifestyle and then set a guard of protection against your mind day and night.
